In a previous post, I mentioned that my dad and I will be competing in the 2016 Emerald Cup in the Men’s Physique Category. Of course, this isn’t our first time. Back in 2012, we competed and although we worked our butts off and got it great shape we just didn’t have enough time (only 3 months) to get in peak condition. Furthermore, we completely struck out on the posing – which is just as important (if not more) as your actual condition. Frankly, we just didn’t know what we were doing. Even though we were in better condition than many of our fellow competitors, they simply knew how to pose better than us and as a result, received higher marks.
So when we decided to compete again 4 years later, we didn’t want to make the same mistakes of the past. This year, we are investing in not one, but two coaches!
One is to help us with our training and nutrition and the other for our posing.
For nutrition and training, we are using Darin Starr, at Five Starr Physique. He comes highly recommended and is really acting as our Chief Architect by planning exactly what and when we are eating, in addition to our workouts.
Finally, for posing, we are pumped to have joined Tanji Johnson‘s Save Fitness Team. She’s a 6x IFBB Fitness Champion and is especially well known in the NW health and fitness circles.
We feel great that we have now put together a world-class team of coaches around us. Now, we just need to follow their advice and work our tails off to execute the plan!
Wish us luck 🙂
